Where to take your HHW
Once thought to be chemicals used and discarded soley by large industries, hazardous materials are found in many common household products and may pose a threat to human health and the environment if improperly disposed.
-
Did you know each year individuals improperly dump 240 million gallons of oil, 20 times the amount spilled by the Exxon Valdez in Alaska.
-
Pesticides are designed to last only 2 years in their container, but many people store them on a shelf for years and years.
The Lucas County Solid Waste Management District provides Lucas County residents with information and outlets to safely dispose of their household hazardous waste.
